CONNECTING PEOPLE AND IDEAS TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN
One thing Word of Mouth (WOM) loves is making things happen. That’s why WOM believes in the power of offline connections and community as the way to get ahead. THE MONEY TALK
Money. We’ve spoken about it before and brought to you an exercise of how to figure out how much you need, and importantly, want to earn. But what about having to communicate this number to a future or current employer?
If you are in a position that you need to discuss your salary, why not try a chatbot? More precisely, try Cindy Gallop's chatbot. |
The conversation of money, in general, is not a common topic amongst friends and family. But perhaps if we did speak more about it, it could be beneficial to career progression and life planning. This BBC4 Late Night Woman's Hour episode makes it easy for you to hear what it's like to talk money amongst peers. Listen to a discussion about money (earning, saving and managing) with four incredible women. (The other episodes are also worth a listen.)
And when you are earning the money you want, you also need to learn how to manage it. With the rising number of people turning to self-employment, this has brought time-consuming administrative headaches. And whenever there's a pain, soon after there's a solution. The traditional banking industry is being challenged by a new wave of online banks that are able to respond to self-employed needs and offer tailored services. Some to keep an eye on are Kontist (DE), Coconut (UK), and Monese.

Read: This article brings together data and a spotlight on the reality that our lives are set on a male default, but this doesn't reflect the fact that half the population is female and women make +80% of decisions and are therefore the largest market consumer. It's now time to change the status quo.
