MAKING CONNECTIONS EASIER

Making offline connections is important, but for many, it's often difficult to get started. One can feel intimidated or awkward striking up a conversation with a stranger.

Wouldn't it be great to have someone by your side to introduce you and start the conversation?

This is one of Word of Mouth's commitments to its members. WOM aims to create a space that eliminates the intimidation of making offline connections that are often experienced in workspaces and events, by being each member's personal introducer. WOM will be that person and place, where getting to know someone new is as easy as already having met them.

FINISH THIS YEAR DIFFERENTLY

It's that time of year when many of us, sadly, finish the year and start a new one not feeling good about ourselves, mentally and physically. Perhaps kicking ourselves for having that extra glass of wine or slice of cake or not starting that blog or e-commerce site we planned to. Sound familiar?

What if you finished the year differently this time?

* Daydream. Yup, nothing wrong with daydreaming.
* Work with your hands. No, typing is not working with your hands. Give it a try: fix something, bake something, paint or draw something even if it's a doodle. Put the timer on for 3-minutes to get you started.
* Learn more about something you like. Are you a coffee drinker? Do you know the process from growing to cup? Or how about checking out Khan Academy for free and useful courses.
* Go for a walk.
* Make one change. For example, ditch plastic straws and maybe try and get your local cafe/restaurant to do the same.

Read: In keeping with the theme above, this is an easy read to help get started. Point 1 is key, your plans are yours, not others.

Watch: Sir David Attenborough is awesome and the new Blue Planet II shows us how incredible nature is.

Listen: If it feels uncomfortable or the toughest task, then it's a good indicator that it needs to get done. Whilst getting your daily 30-minute walk, have a listen to this podcast episode about getting things done.
