SERIES
Have you met...
the woman behind Wined-Up? You would remember if you have because Jaclyn Zimmerman is unforgettable. In spite of working in an industry that is often perceived as exclusive, out of reach, (and male-dominated), she breaks all those stereotypes.
One could assume that working in wine was an obvious outcome for Jaclyn having grown up in San Francisco and having spent time in Italy during her university studies. But in fact, her introduction into the wine industry sprung from her love of creating valuable and fun events for people, which happened to involve the world of wine. |
After her studies in international politics, she pursued a career path working in Congress in Washington, D.C., however, she yearned to have more international experiences, both professionally and personally. Soon after making this her quest, a job opportunity appeared to work in international sales in Berlin.
Once in Berlin and settling into a new lifestyle and job, she knew she had to find ways of integrating into her new home and meet people. And with this endeavour, she found herself attending different events, one of which was a wine tasting in a small wine store in Mitte. One thing led to the next and she found herself helping the owner organise wine tastings, realising not only did she enjoy creating enjoyable experiences for people, but the people left smiling, asking for more events. She soon found herself enveloped in the wine industry and eventually invited to take over the wine store.
Jaclyn has been working in the wine industry since 2011, not only organising wine tastings and team building events for corporate and private occasions, she is also one of the sommeliers for Schwein, recently reviewed in Morgen Post.

She has a natural ability to select the right wines. You are in good hands during her wine tastings and if you are seeking advice on what to drink and buy for certain occasions.
Jaclyn creates events under her business, Wined-Up, which showcase her incredible knowledge of the wine world through a positive and genuine experience. Her innate ability to communicate her deep understanding of the industry, from grape to bottle (and a lot of hidden stories in-between), is because of her descriptive and captivating style. She makes learning fun and rewarding. On top of that, what really makes her events memorable is her gift in making people feel at ease.
This is why Word of Mouth is extremely grateful to collaborate with Jaclyn to offer the community truly one-of-a-kind wine tasting experiences. Not only do you walk away knowing one more thing about wine (and many “oh, I didn’t know that” moments), you also take with you an evening of conversations and connections.
