Have you met...
Katie Byrne, the incredibly talented self-taught abstract painter? Originally from Ireland, she grew up in a seaside town on the East Coast, south of Dublin. A number of years ago, Katie left Ireland and embarked on a series of journeys to India as a yoga student.
It was during these trips that Katie reconnected with her love of art, spending hours painting in her free time. On returning from India, Katie moved to London where she now calls home and practices both yoga and art daily. |
Katie shares her narrative and expresses her interpretation of life through her paintings. Starting with still life, Katie moved into the realm of abstract art where she felt most at home in her ability to express freely from the heart, and to allow the viewer to make their own interpretations of the work.
Her style ranges from a strong use of colour to the complete contrast where black is the prominent, and sometimes solitary colour, that is telling the story.
