Have you met...
Klara Hultén, a highly skilled leather designer? It all started by accident, helping out her sister finalise her final knitwear collection for her studies at Central Saint Martins in 2009. By helping someone out, she discovered a love for the creative process and the amazing feeling you get when you physically create something beautiful.
The opportunity to develop this newly found interest came about when she found a part-time job for a studio as a sample maker, who happened to also teach at London College of Fashion where she was able to fine-tune her skills attending the bachelor’s degree in accessories. |
She worked at her employer’s studio throughout her studies and up until last summer when she took the leap to set up her own studio, which she shares with another talented leather maker, Stevan Saville.
The mission behind setting up a studio is to create a collective of young brands helping and supporting each other. Each maker has different strengths and skills, demonstrating that progress comes from sticking together and sharing experiences (not competing against each other, as explained in one of WOM’s newsletters).

In addition to working on her own brand, she helps other brands with their production. Working with a wide range of clients enables her to strengthen and develop more styles with unique issues and challenges.
For her own brand, she combines time-tested English traditional craftsmanship with a modern Scandinavian design influenced by her background. The design and production process has been unfolding over the years, enabling her to thoroughly wear test and develop a collection that is truly unique and of high quality that will last for years.
