the woman challenging how the branding industry works? Meryl Vedros, the award-winning creative director of Vedros Studio has been creating a new bridge to connect the gap between branding and research by bringing cultural insights and understanding into company identities. She runs the Vedros Studio in the US and Europe and with her international clients is often travelling across the world.

A citizen of the world, Meryl has spread her wings from Kansas City to Austin to New York City and now Berlin and has worked in studios such as Pentagram, FÖDA and Mucca where she earned several prestigious awards including the communication arts award of excellence and the Graphik Silver Medal.
When it was time to leave the 9-5 life, Meryl sold all her belongings and bought a one-way ticket to Asia, which has now resulted in having travelled to 30 countries in almost every continent. It’s from these international experiences that it’s not only clear to her but also her clients, that if you really look at the design industry that has been primarily focused on aesthetics, it is in fact design research that is fundamental in the process. The result is the creation of brands that are built from a profound soul-based root linked to a brand's past, which takes the image on a journey that goes beyond aesthetics.
Word of Mouth has had the honour of being next to her on a panel event, introducing her work and inviting her to speak about mental health at Word of Mouth’s first public event as part of the Deep Talk Series. Mental health is a topic close to Meryl and she often addresses her experiences in all her talks and presentations. In her personal exploration she started a project that has evolved into a postcard collection always available to purchase online and when she gives a talk.
