SERIES
Have you met...
the lady changing the way the companies that have significant socio-economic impacts do business in Africa? Rosalind is not only driven by a deep belief but also based on real-life proof that corporations can create a win-win socio-economic outcome for their projects by changing their approach to and processes for managing their environmental and social impacts; and their engagement with stakeholders in their host countries.
Rosalind’s work is transforming some longstanding, typical habits of how corporations approach their projects, which have too often resulted in detrimental socio-economic and environmental outcomes, in order to reach better all-around results. And she is doing this in some of the hardest industries, creating the opportunity for the oil and gas, power, mining, and infrastructure sectors to really make positive, profound changes in the societies they impact. Communication is the key - providing information, listening, consulting and engaging. |
A lawyer by profession, Rosalind has worked in the corporate world building extensive experience in government relations, political risk management, social investment and corporate and environmental law. Through her experiences, she has gained an incredibly rich and profound understanding of both sides of the process - the country's and the company's.
As a result of seeing first-hand how some companies can, if they chose to, approach the extraction of natural resources from lands in a sustainable manner that benefits both the company and host countries and communities, Rosalind knew it was a necessity to make this the norm rather than the exception.
This led her to open Kina Advisory, a consultancy that deeply believes in the future of the African continent and the role that businesses can play in transforming countries and communities to create a positive shape for their future. To first and foremost understand the environmental and social impacts that these companies create because of their activities. For example, a company’s local strategy should focus on developing its own local supply chain, as well as building up local businesses that can support a country’s economic diversification and inclusive economic growth.
Her hard work and mission have been rewarded when she received an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for her services to corporate social responsibility for the young people of Africa.

She is Co-President of the International Women’s Forum, Ghana, which among other things, aims to raise awareness amongst women about the necessity for financial planning and wealth preservation, and ways to create sustainable philanthropic activities to contribute to the socio-economic development of African countries.
With her sharp eye and deep understanding of international relations and cultural differences in order to create strong and beneficial working relations and outcomes, the corporate world could learn a thing or two should they decide to move away from the current norms and default of how they’ve been doing things. Rosalind brings to her clients a deeper level of understanding of people and how to connect with each other in order to achieve a win-win solution for all.
