SERIES
Have you met...
the three sisters behind SitEinander? Anna-Lena, Henrike, Ulrike have worked as professional child care and babysitters around the world. And no matter where they were, they noticed a recurring problem amongst young families: the lack of time.
Time and money are precious and limited for parents, and this became even more apparent when Ulrike became a single parent whilst juggling her studies. The sisters had other friends with children who found themselves with similar needs. Moreover, in the increasingly mobile world, many families cannot turn to their own family and friends, making it more difficult to ask for help. |
The solution: supporting each other by sharing ones time to free up another parents’ time. This not only helped everyone out but also strengthened the community.
Word got around and more families got involved in this organic system. The success of this concept and the involvement of more than 70 families in Berlin made the coordination and organisation of these exchanges in itself time-consuming. This is when they turned to technology as a means to facilitate the process. SitEinander is a great example of how technology plays a role in facilitating a solution to a problem.
